FRANCISCAN SISTERS OF PERPETUAL ADORATION

FSPA Welcome Kristin Peters into Novitiate Program
Kristin Peters

The Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration have accepted Kristin Peters, a member of the Archdiocese of Chicago, into the novitiate program. Reception vespers were held July 21 at Mary of the Angels Chapel in La Crosse.

A native of Chicago, Ill., Kristin is a 2001 graduate of the Loyola/Erikson Institute, Chicago, Illinois, where she earned a Masters of Education in child development. She holds a Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree from St. Mary's University, Winona, Minn., where she majored in philosophy and minored in psychology.

Recently, Kristin was in the associate phase with FSPA, during which candidates develop their personal spirituality, learn about FSPA history and values, and work within and experience community life. During this associate phase, Kristin volunteers locally with the Franciscan Skemp Heatlhcare hospice program.

Prior to joining FSPA, Kristin worked to develop a program to serve adults, aged 50 and older, with developmental disabilities at the Neumann Association in Chicago. The Neumann Association works to integrate persons with disabilities and other life issues into the community and enrich their quality of life with choice and independence.

As a member of St. Gregory the Great Parish in the Archdiocese of Chicago, Kristin worked with the Special Religious Development (SPRED) program. SPRED integrates individuals with special needs into a small faith community within the parish. One on one relationships provide a means for each person to come to know Jesus through relationship.
