Franciscan Sister of Perpetual Adoration Mary Ann Gaul passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at the age of 93 and in her seventy-second year of religious profession, at St. Rose Convent in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Sister Mary Ann, born in Luxemburg, Iowa, was one of four sisters and two brothers who grew up on the family farm. After attending FSPA-staffed elementary and high schools in New Vienna, Iowa, she entered St. Rose and made her first profession of vows in 1952. She served ministries that spanned many spectrums, including homemaker in Wisconsin and Iowa, supervisor and training administrator at Xerox Coporation in Minnesota, and FSPA assistant business and plant manager and seamstress in La Crosse. Sister Mary Ann will be remembered as detailed and organized, with knowledge that expanded from fixing furnaces to sewing, whose laugh could be heard for miles and who "said it like it was."
