Progress update on Sister Thea's cause for sainthood

The Diocese of Jackson recently provided an update on Franciscan Sister of Perpetual Adoration and Servant of God Thea Bowman’s cause for sainthood. The canonical process, which began in 2018, is currently in its diocesan phase and is halfway complete. Meg Paulino, FSPA Archivist and affiliate, has been crucial in leading a team of student volunteers to gather and study Sister Thea’s writings. In a recent article by Mississippi Catholic, it was shared, “For those who knew the Servant of God, they are fully aware that she would often jot things down on envelopes, napkins, and any scrap of paper she could find.”

The goal is to complete the diocesan phase before September 2025.

All are invited to pray for Sister Thea's cause for canonization.
