In April, Holy Child Jesus Parish in Canton, Mississippi, honored the memory of Sister Thea Bowman with a memorial celebration. The event served as a reminder of her impact on the community and provided an update on her path to sainthood.
Currently, the diocesan phase of Sister Thea’s canonization process is in motion. The historical commission is carefully studying her writings and life to create a detailed biography. They meet monthly with the postulator in Rome to handle any technical research questions.
Sister Thea’s handwritten notes are undergoing transcription into a formal document. Meg Paulino, FSPA Archivist and affiliate, spearheaded this process, with the assistance of some student volunteers.
